parks and recreation!

The pavilion in Cedar Street Park
|
The
Town of Loxley has so much to offer its citizens, but the really
true diamonds are the parks and the recreation opportunities.
Managed and maintained by a former country club greens keeper,
his crew, and the town's landscaper, the parks are kept in such
pristine condition that one feels totally at home on every visit.
The recreational facilities, baseball and football fields are
looked after with such care that it is the primary location
for many of the area's tournaments.
There
are two main town parks: The Loxley Municipal Park and the Cedar
Street Park. A total of six baseball fields are available to
local baseball, T-ball, and softball teams. The Loxley Bengals
Football Field is actually located on Baldwin County School
Board property, but is maintained by the Town of Loxley's Parks
and Recreation staff.

The Loxley Municipal
Park is the largest of the recreational areas. One can find
the excitement of a baseball or softball game in one of its
three state of the art fields or can find the time to walk around
the 1/2 mile walking trail set in the shadow of hundreds of
beautiful southern pines, while leaving the children in an enclosed,
ultra modern, children's playground. The Loxley Civic Center
is also located inside the park. If you are looking for a relaxing
outdoor venue for a birthday party or family get together, the
park has three covered pavilions for our guests. There is even
a horseshoe pit for those who are enthusiastic about sharing
that activity with family and friends. Landscaped with beautiful
seasonal flowers and shrubbery, one need to go no further to
experience all of the colors that nature can offer.
The
Cedar Street Park is located on the corner of Cedar Street and
Relham Drive. It is manicured as well as the Municipal Park,
but does not have the amenities offered at the main recreational
area. It does have a large gazebo pavilion with picnic tables
that can be used for family outings, birthdays and just plain
friendly get-togethers. There is also an older children's playground
with swings, slides, and a hand turned carousel.

and baseball leagues, and the scheduling for tournaments and
such, contact the Parks Superintendent at (251)964-2153.
