2021 Street Resurfacing Project – Request for Bids

Sealed bids will be received by the Town of Loxley of Baldwin County, Alabama, in the Town of Loxley offices, 1089 S. Hickory St. Loxley, Alabama, until 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 6, 2021, and then publicly opened thereafter, for furnishing all labor and materials, and performing all work required by the Town of Loxley and described as follows:

Plans, Drawings, and specifications on file may be viewed at Loxley Town Hall, located at 1089 S. Hickory Street. Bid advertisement and other related documents will be posted on the Town of Loxley website https://www.townofloxley.org/ . Questions or comments pertaining to this proposal must be presented in writing to PO Box 9, Loxley, AL 36551 to the attention of Robert Davis, Superintendent of Utilities, or emailed to Robert Davis at rdavis@townofloxley.org, Seventy-two (48) hours prior to the proposal opening or may be forever waived.

Sealed bids will be received until the above time and date at which time they will be opened as soon thereafter as practicable.

All Bids must be on blank bid forms provided in the Bid documents. Bids shall be accompanied by a BID SECURITY equal to 5% (percent) of the bid price, but in no event more than $10,000.00. BID SECURITY shall be in the form of a Bid Bond signed by a Bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Alabama, or a Cashier’s Check payable to the Town of Loxley. NO BID SECURITY is required on bids less than $10,000.00.

A Performance Bond in the form and terms approved by the Town of Loxley in an amount not less than the sum of the bid will be required at the signing of the CONTRACT, and in addition, a Labor and Materials Bond in the form and terms approved by the Town of Loxley in an amount not less than fifty percent (50%) of the CONTRACT price insuring payment for all labor and materials.

The CONTRACTOR must furnish to the Town of Loxley at the time of the signing of the CONTRACT, a Certificate of Insurance coverage as provided in the contract documents which will include Comprehensive Insurance. The company that is awarded the bid must have Workman’s Compensation Insurance on all its employees if work is to be performed on the Town of Loxley’s premises. General Liability Insurance, specifying coverage, must be maintained to hold the Town of Loxley harmless in the event of an accident. See bid packet for details.
