The Building/Zoning department handles planning and zoning issues, subdivisions, building construction and nuisance ordinances. Building permits are issued at Town Hall. In the building department we strive to see that all construction meets the requirements of Codes. This helps minimize damage from fire and storms.

The Town of Loxley encourages growth. As a matter of fact, this small town in Southwest Alabama has the largest planning area in all of Baldwin County. We know it is coming and we know that growth will hit us fast, but we don’t want to be caught unaware. Some of our sister cities in Baldwin County have experienced unprecedented growth and they were almost overwhelmed before they got matters under control. The Town of Loxley has stringent subdivision and zoning regulations. Our Building Inspector’s Office, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Adjustments ensure that the growth is managed properly.
